Have I mentioned that I am Busy?
Though I have tried to get pictures, I find that my knack for taking pics is not great. However, I am determined to dive into my artistic repertoire and find some kind of ability that resembles photography and bring more pics for my next post.
So, school is in full gear and we are already in our 7th week. Wow! I can't believe we are more than half-way over. I'm learning and growing so much. Learning more about Islamic beliefs and worldview and growing in my relationship with the big man upstairs. It's great.
Other than full-on busy with school stuff, I'm working toward a trip in October. As part of a group i work with here in Perth, we long to see Indonesian believers mobilized into other countries.....in particular, the unreached areas of Nepal. So, we are finally taking our steps toward that goal. In October, we will be taking a group of Indonesians to Nepal for their first oversea trip. I am stoked about it!
Ok! It's time for pics:
As a large base, we have many, uh, "different" kind of "special" people. A particular group is a group that call themselves "geeks". Yes, they actually call themselves that. The "geek" group prides themselves as people who still embrace the legendary movies of Star Wars. To celebrate their love, they have declared May 4 as Star Wars day. They call it "may the 4th be with you". There of course was a party in which people dressed up and got to compete for the best Chubaka sound. Below are some pics to prove that I am not making this up
This one, um, I'm not really sure what he is
This gal was Chubaka
the "geek" squad
I love this pic with the rainbow shining down on Perth, which is also know as "the City of Light"
My school had a breakfast fund-raiser. Of course I had to bring a taste of the south with my biscuits and gravy. People LOVED it.
