Things God is teaching me
It’s been a while since I’ve last posted and a lot has happened. However, I will only concentrate on one thing: what has God been teaching me.
As many of you know, I lead a 3-month training program that begins in July. I have students come in from all over the world to be trained in church planting. However, since we only had 3 students, we had to cancel the school (we needed at least 5). As I began to prepare for this school back in March, I felt God say that I would have to fight for this school. So, I did. I prayed hard and sought God. In my prayers, God kept leading me to fight for people who were resisting God’s leading to take the school. In the end, I guess they said “no” to God.
Why am I sharing all of this? Well, I’ve learned a lot through it. I took the canceling of the school pretty hard. I didn’t know what I was suppose to do and I didn’t know where I went wrong. However, God (being God) lifted me up and encourage me that I had “fought the good fight”. So, I’m moving on.
Through all of this, I have come to realize the importance of my Christian family. When I announced I had to cancel the school, I was overwhelmed by the amount of support that came from people. God has called us to be a body……a family. Jesus prayed for us to be unified. I would not have overcome my disappointed so quickly if it weren’t for my family here in Australia and my family of believers there in the States. I have come to realize the importance of family. My godly family. Let’s keep lifting each other up. Let go of your pride and offences and let’s love each other as God intended. It hurts His heart (and each other) if we refuse to forgive and hold onto our anger.
I didn’t realize this until I came here to Australia. I love my country and I am proud of our culture. However, we emphasize our individuality so much, we forget we need each other. One person had a gift that we need and we have a gift they need. Let’s not compare. We are unique in how we are made up. But to make that uniqueness valuable, we must use it for others and with others.
Ok, it’s time to end. I pray you find this as encouraging and challenging as I have. This is what I felt I should write in this post. Please feel free to email me at kj_kel@yahoo.com if you have any comments or questions.
For those of you who are interested in supporting me financially, please email me and I’ll fill you in on the details of how to do it.
God bless you all!
