As not much new as been happening, I will post mostly pictures this post. I am still working with the frontier mission training program that is starting in July. I am also still working with INC which might take me to Indo next February. Outside of that, I've been busy with alot of boring admin stuff for the school and trying to have some fun in between :) So! let's begin!
 |
My sister blessed my socks off while home with a trip to Sea World.
This has got to be my best birthday present ever!
Here, my twin and I are acting like the flamingos |
Soon after I returned from the States, my birthday was upon me!
There are a few things my base does for birthdays.
 |
They make you a cake.
oh yes! that IS a cowboy boot. I am the resident red-neck around here |
 |
They also decorate a nice table for you and 7 friends to eat dinner at
This is the Aussie side (the 3 on the left......the girl at the
end is from England). I find I get along very well with Aussies.
I think it's because I like their direct way of speaking |
 |
Then there is my fellow SOFM leader
(she's from North Carolina too)
I'd like to take a moment here to say there's a definite anointing
of leadership on North Carolina........there are
at least 3 school leaders here from NC) |
 |
2 of my AMAZING housemates
(both Bible school leaders) |
 |
| Another AMAZING housemate.......from England |
 |
| and some weirdo that just sat there like she owned that table |
 |
another tradition is the birthday speech. this is a problem for people who hate
speaking in front of people.......because here, you do it in front of at least 350 people.
BUT! for those of you who know me know I have NO problem speaking in front of people.
In my birthday speech, I talked about some things that happens in your 30's. Here, I am discussing that fat that dangles under your bicep. Yeah, I encouraged people to embrace that fact and have fun with it. Here, I'm actually waving my arm in the air so people can see that fat jiggle. I told everyone to have kids poke at it....they got a kick out of that. |
 |
I also included in my speech a challenge: anyone who could do a "weird human trick" that was weirder than my 7
would win a reeces cup. The girl who won did this crazy moving wave thing
with her tongue |
 |
Another highlight of that week was a "Bush Dance". This is the Aussie version of a Square Dance.
As you can see, we dressed for the occasion. |
 |
| I got my hair did |
 |
Every Tuesday and Friday morning, our base divides into groups and
intercede for the nations. This is my prayer group |
 |
During worship, we can do some pretty crazy things. This week, there are a lot
of finances due because the January schools are about to go on their outreaches.
So, many need to see money come in (all of us are full-time volunteers).
Here, we are doing a prophetic act of being a wall of finances and having those still needing money
run through that wall. As you can see, I joined up with the boys (anyone surprised?)
NOBODY was getting through me!!! mainly because I was leaning against that pole behind me :) |
|
The highlight of the month has been this: someone GAVE me a car! YES! this beautiful, yellow, older-than-me car. I have named it "Daisy Joe" It's a '76 Toyota Corolla and it still drives beautifully. The only music station it picks up plays music from the late 70's, early 80's...... HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!
The End
