Back From Nepal
I'm taking the world one nation at a time :)
For this blog, I have loaded quite a lot of pictures, so I'll talk less. My trip to Nepal was indeed "full-on" as they say here in Aussie land. We hit the ground running and didn't stop for 3 weeks. Our main purpose for going to Nepal was to scout out locations for further mission teams to come in. We met with church and ministry leaders to find out what they were doing and how we could help them reach their area for God. So, most of our trip was full of meeting, talking, relating, and of course my favorite: eating!
It's humbling to think God would use me to effect so many nations. I knew He had called me to Indonesia but didn't know how He would use me. Now, I'm heading to places like Nepal in order to send teams of indonesian missionaries there. The missionary is no longer the "white" person but Asia is now on the move!!!!
Here are some pictures of my trip:
On my to Nepal for the first time
Mt. Everest! Can you pick it out? I took this picture during our flight
You know you're in an Asian country when your welcome
gift includes toilet paper
Nepal is primarily Hindu so pictures of their gods and goddess were everywhere
Because of their Hindu nature, they believe cows are sacred.
Therefore, they tend to roam everywhere.....even in the middle of the city
A common way of travel....... sometimes, we even saw
goats riding on top
Not Mt. Everest, but still beautiful
This was our view from the roof of one of the places we stayed
When we arrived, they were celebrating their main festival; Diwali
They build this kind of swing every year during this time and of course
I had to try it (that's me on the swing)
A group of Nepali women
My team (2 Indonesian, a Malaysia, and the white girl)
In one of the towns, we were teaching the youth different ways of praying over their town
Here, 2 or our teams members are proclaiming scriptures God had given them over the area
Superwoman
A typical site in the villages
on our way to a house fellowship....this was a fun swinging bridge
A very normal site but it still took my breath away (that's a mountain in the background....not clouds)
EVERYWHERE we went, families would have us over for a meal
The reason they are all skinny is because their "lunch" was at 10am and their "dinner" was
at 8pm with a small tea time at 2pm.
Sunset
I couldn't resist. I had to put this picture in
A Hindu priest. This means, he is actually a poor man who decided to become a priest so he can get
offerings from people as he blesses them
The main part of the festival is placing "tika" (dot on the forehead). This dog was thrilled
to have on
Some of the church youth we worked with and taught
WHAT'S NEXT????
I'll be here in Perth for 3 weeks then I'm heading home to the States for 6 weeks so I can celebrate Christmas with my family and share with people what I am doing in the world.
So, maybe, the next post will come from me locally. Bless you!
