Celebrations

These past few weeks have been full of various kinds of celebrations and events

! First, it is my company's 50th anniversary for our international division. But, it is also my local base's 25th anniversary. So, we decided to combind it all and make it a full-on week of celebrations!

First, Sunday through Tuesday was our international anniversary. The founders of my company flew in and hung out with us for those days. They spoke in our conferences and talked to whoever wanted to talk to them. Personally, I got to meet the wife, Darlene, and just thank her for their obediance that change my way of thinking and living. Throughout these few days, we had teaching sessions, morning, afternoon, and evening teas, special musical artists and everything.

Then came Wednesday through Friday with our local anniversary in which we let loose and laughed a lot more. There were skits, fashion shows, and more sessions. As a base hosting such a large event, each of us had to do certain work duties. For me, I ended being in charge of the morning along with another lady. That pretty much meant I got to boss people around for a whole morning! Nah, it didn't go like that, though I didn't know I could be so stressed out. It's quite the challenge to set and serve food and drinks for 700 people!

The Monday following the celebrations was a golf classic fundraiser I was in. My base is bursting at the seams with students wanting to train and staff that wants to teach. So, we are in desperate need of new buildings and facilities. Therefore, my base had this golf classic. Now some of you are probaly wondering......"I didn't know Kellie played golf". Well, actually, I don't. But! I did manage to get some lessons from a few people who actually knew what a golf ball was and I think in the end, I did pretty well. I did manage to get a few really nice drives and was able to even get par on a few holes. Not bad, I'd say, for a beginner. Dad, I think I'm ready to challenge you to a game :)

Ok! the only other big event I got to experience has been my birthday bash. I decided to throw my own party this year and I had a blast! In keeping with the local ways, I had a themed party........"Redneck". I am lucky enough to work with several southerners. So, we all cooked up somethin real nice and brought out our sweet tea and did some line dancin'!! Yeeehaw!!! Even though my birthday isn't until Tuesday, I feel like I've already turned 33. It was so nice to be around so many southerners and eat some great southern styled food.

Well! that's about it. Hope you enjoy the pictures!!

Some pics from my party

Our first night of our 50th celebrations, i sang in a choir. We ended up singing a good ol' gospel song......I felt like I was at home again

part of our fashion show. unfortunately, I don't even know what he's modeling.....but it was just darn hilarious.

Darlene.....she and her husband started the group I work with. She is an amazing speaker....and quite the fireball. She's one of those people who could slap you but is so nice, you'd ask her to do it again.
