THE END OF A SEASON
The End is Come! I'm here, getting ready to start another chapter of my life (actually, I have already begun it, but I'll cover that in my next post).
I can't believe my time of working with refugees and English teaching is ending and I am entering a time of being a full-time student once again. These past few months have been quite the reward for me. When I realized that I was going to Indonesia, I was indeed concerned. My experience with the Muslim culture was, well, non-existent. Plus, for those of you who know me well also know that my good English is, well, non-existent :) So, through working with teaching English and meeting with Muslim families has filled that gap quite a bit.
Not only has this been a time of gaining experience, but also a major time of breaking and growing on a personal level. There has been a time of dying to my pride and a time of building my confidence in who I am in Dad.....he IS amazing!
What next? Well, I'll give you a glimpse into my next post since I HAVE started my class. Last Monday, I thought I would give the School of Frontier Missions (SoFM) another whirl. I said "good-bye" to my one roommate and several days later I said "hello" to my 3 new roomies (all of which are my fellow classmates). It's nice to have classmates since I was the only student in my last class. There are about 10 of us plus 3 leaders. I haven't been great at taking pictures lately, but I'll try to get some for my next post. Ok, now it's time of pictures....whoohoo!
My housemate and I took my roomie out for a girls' day on the town before she headed off to South Africa. It was good for just us girls to get out and have some fun.
2 weeks ago, we had a commissioning night where some of us were commissioned as Strategic Coordinators. This is a dress-up event where they "send us out" to the nations to pioneer work
These ladies are a part of a family that my co-workers and I met with regularly for fellowship (there were 9 of them in a 4 room apartment). They are an amazing group and I will miss them.
Perth is a city of rainbows! I have seen TONS of them and most of them are bright and full like this one. Here's an example
