Now, for the much awaited update! Since I'll be leaving soon, the last few weeks have been filled with travel to far away lands like Michigan and Virginia to say good-bye to friends and family. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I'll let the pics do the talkin'.
First, down to Charlotte to see some great friends. I've know Lainey (or Elaine as others know her) and Toby since college and they have always been such a blessing to me!
Next, I traveled the opposite way.......way up to New York City to see my dad!
My dad is in New York for a bit and his company is paying for his hotel room.....so Mom, Andrea, and I all thougth "hey, free place to stay plus we get to hang out with dad a bit; why not?"
So off we went to see the Big Apple (though I never saw any apples at all......hmmmm......) and had a pretty good time eating and shopping.
Have you ever tried to bargain with a Chinese lady???? Quit the experience. One such experience happened with Mom and I. We were in this purse
shop and asked the lady about Coach wallets (here I must help some of the guys reading......Coach is a brand that makes great purses and they can cost up to $800.....ok, once you get your breath back, know we were looking for knock-offs). Anyway! This lady said she had some and took us to the back of the store. She reached under a lever and pushed a botton that released an unmarked door. From there, she led us into a small room that looked like a mini warehouse. She proceeded to whip out her keys and unlock 2 deadbolts which led us further into another warehouse-like room (again another break to explain that my wonderful, shelfless mother was pulling me in front of her.....just in case I had to whip out my mad Kung-fu skills on someone). When we thought we were about to die, the lady pushed on the wall to reveal a bathroom size room packed full of Coach bags.......wow! Of course, she didn't have what we were looking for so we left.......in a hurry!
We ate A LOT of food while there. We went to Carnagie Deli for their famous gigantour sandwitches. Here's an expample:

Oh yeah, that's a lot of meat!

My next and last stop was in Michigan to visit my brother and his family. Again I had a blast with them all. My niece, Meredith, wanted to play Tag all weekend and I got to sing her her "special" Meredith song.
Ok! So now I know why I need to update this thing more often; so these blogposts aren't so long! Sorry about that. And, hey! if you don't see anything that you want to see on these posts, please let me know and I'll work on it. Well, have a great week and thanks for thinking of me!
